Making Tax Digital (MTD) is the Government new initiative that will get rid of the annual tax returns and will require businesses to submit their tax return digitally and on a more regular basis.
The objective is to help all businesses including the self employed keep on top of their tax affairs through regular reporting and payment of the taxes due. From April 2019 you will be required to submit your VAT return in a digital format either using HMRC Online services or MTD commercial software. The initiative is being rolled out and now is the time for VAT registered business to begin the preparation – it will not be wise to leave it till later before you consider the impact of MTD on your business. Our practise is already geared up to assist both existing and new clients in making the switch over to digital reporting in a painless manner.
We can help you to set up your online accounts so you can maintain your records and supporting documents in the recommended digital formats.
